Valentine's Dinner

Saturday night the college and career young people held a Valentine's Dinner for couple's at church and for those who bring their children to AWANA.  It was an amazing evening!  They did a wonderful job!

Michelle and DJ made the food.  Putting salads together.

The young people did all the preparations themselves.  They made the food, decorated, served the food and played beautiful music.  They came up with game show entertainment.

The menu board did not do the meal justice.  It was amazing!  The salad had roasted butternut salad with candied pecans, dried cranberries, bacon, chevre, and mixed baby greens.  It was served with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing.  I was going to take pictures of the food but I started eating it because it was so delicious, before I remembered that I wanted to take photos.  The chicken piccata had a wonderful lemon tartness, with mashed potatoes, and fresh roasted asparagus with garlic for the main coarse.  Total yumminess!  Chicken piccata is one of my favorites.

Table decorations, the guys all wore suits and vests to serve.
The cheesecake was 100% made by the Mangos.  Elizabeth made GF cookies for the crust.  Michelle made chocolate cheesecakes and vanilla cheesecakes.  The chocolate had a chocolate topping with fresh raspberries.  The vanilla either had a raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries or with chocolate sauces and fresh raspberries.  It was totally delicious.  The whole meal was GF and Soy free!

The music was provided by a group of some students from CIM as well as from our chapel.  They played so well.  The music made the evening for me.  They played  classical music and Jordyn sang a couple love songs.  Diana sang a song as well.  It made for a very classy evening!

Josh and Christa put together a quiz show.  The first section was general knowledge questions.  Then the winners from each table did  a couples quiz.  It was fun.  The prize was a date package (which, because Josh has a corny sense of humor, was a package of dates! as well as two candy bars.  haha!) It was so nice!  Ray Gonzalez gave a little message on marriage.

Michelle and Liam
Little Liam came with his parents.   He was so good!  He didn't cry at all during the evening. Michelle really enjoys holding him.

Liam

Liam was awake and alert.  He is almost 4 weeks old.  It was a lovely evening.  Thanks to all the College and Career adults who worked so hard to put this together.
